Explore Canada's federal Express Entry programs, check which program may fit your background, and calculate an estimated Comprehensive Ranking System score using current official criteria.
Express Entry is IRCC's online system for managing applications under three federal economic programs: the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). You must first qualify for at least one of these underlying programs.
Eligible candidates who enter the pool receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, and IRCC issues invitations to apply for permanent residence through regular rounds of invitations. Being in the pool, or having a particular CRS score, never guarantees an invitation.
Meeting a program's basic eligibility never guarantees an Invitation to Apply — the Comprehensive Ranking System still ranks candidates within the pool.
For skilled workers with qualifying paid Canadian work experience, generally at least 1 year within the 3 years before applying, gained while authorized under temporary resident status.
For skilled workers with qualifying foreign work experience, approved language testing, and education requirements, assessed against a selection-factor grid.
For workers qualified in an eligible skilled trade, generally requiring qualifying trade work experience, language testing, and either a job offer or a Canadian certificate of qualification.
Beyond your specific program, an Express Entry profile also depends on the following.
Every profile is different, but the shape of the process generally looks like this.
Confirm eligibility for at least one of CEC, FSWP or FSTP.
Finish an approved language test and, where applicable, an educational credential assessment.
Submit your profile to enter the pool.
Eligible candidates are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System.
Candidates who receive an invitation to apply submit a full permanent residence application.
IRCC reviews eligibility, admissibility and supporting evidence before a final decision.
Answer a few questions about your work experience, education and language testing for an initial program-alignment review. This is separate from the CRS score calculator below.
Question 1 of 8
This calculator uses the current official Comprehensive Ranking System point tables. It's an independent estimate for planning purposes, not a guarantee of your actual profile score or of an invitation to apply.
Step 1 of 8
Your profile
No. Pool entry does not guarantee an invitation to apply — candidates are ranked and invited based on the Comprehensive Ranking System, and invitation cutoffs vary by round.
Not for CRS points — job offer points were removed from the Comprehensive Ranking System effective March 25, 2025. A qualifying job offer may still matter for underlying program eligibility in some cases, such as the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
Core human capital factors (age, education, language, Canadian work experience), spouse or common-law partner factors where applicable, skill transferability combinations, and additional points such as a provincial nomination, Canadian education, French-language proficiency, or a qualifying sibling in Canada.
Quebec selects its own economic immigrants through a separate process. The federal CEC, FSWP and FSTP programs generally require intending to live outside Quebec.
This calculator uses the same published official point tables, but it's an independent estimate for planning purposes — always confirm your actual profile and score in your own IRCC Express Entry account.
