Self-employed person

To be eligible to apply for permanent residence under the self-employed person program, you must have at least 2 years of work experience in the last 5 years as a self-employed in cultural activities or athletics. Also, you must show that you intend to become self-employed in Canada.

Selection Criteria

Applicant must score minimum 35 points out of 100 points based on following 5 selection criteria.

  • Experience – Max 35 points
  • Education – Max 25 points
  • Age – Max 10 points
  • English and/or French – Max 24 points
  • Adaptibility – Max 6 points

Other Requirements

Applicant must meet Medical, security checks, and other requirements to apply under this program.

  • You and your family members must pass a medical exam and have a police certificate.
  • You must show proof of funds that you enough money to support yourself and your family after immigrating to Canada.

You must meet the minimum eligibility requirement for at least one of the three categories of Express Entry program before you can create your online profile. Three programs are Federarl Skille worker, Federal Skilled Trade and Canadian Experience Class.
